August 10 at 888 Auctions Set to Feature Chinese Jade Seals, Coins and Asian Art

Richmond Hill, ON – August 10th marks the last summer sale of the year at 888 auctions featuring 422 items. Included in the auction will be fresh-to-market carved jade seals, coins, textiles watercolour paintings, ceramics, bronze figures, and jewellery. With estimates ranging from high to low with some items commanding high estimates into the six figures, there will be something for the discerning collector.

Featured in the spotlight for this auction will be lot 405, a Chinese Imperial Porcelain Plaque. Signed Tang Ying and the porcelain plaque painted with a landscape scene in familiar famille rose motif, the plaque is furnished with a wood carved stand in openwork floral and leafy patterns. Its provenance includes its inclusion in the 2010 Autumn Hong Kong Christie’s Auction. Lot 405 commands a high estimate of $300,000.

Jade carved items of exceptional quality and provenance continue to grab attention at 888 and the August 10 auction will include several standout pieces. Headlining this category will be lot 168, an Imperial Hetian Green Jade Carved Seal. Signed and hailing from either the 18th or 19th century, the square section seal is surmounted by a pair of addorsed dragons and features a high estimate of $125,000.
