Modern Art, Estate Paintings & Asian Antiques Feature Heavily at 888 Auctions’ March 26, 2020 Auction

Richmond Hill, ON – With the weather clearing and temperatures rising, March 26, 2020 will be featuring 397 fresh-to-market items available to the highest bidder. Collectors will be pleased to find a wide selection within 888 Auctions’ Modern Art, Estate Paintings & Asian Antiques sale. Live bidding takes place on the gallery floor of 888 Auctions Thursday, March 26, 2020 at 2 PM (EST).

Visit the auction at 888 Auctions during the public viewing period: Monday, March 23, 2020 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Tuesday, March 24, 2020 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Wednesday, March 25, 2020 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m and just before the auction on Thursday, March 26, 2020 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. 

The featured lot of this auction is Lot 82, Andre Jallot 1884-1963 French Oil on Wood c. 1919. Featuring an impressionist village landscape scene. Signed Andre Jallot (b. 1884-, Paris) on the lower right corner. Inscribed and signed on verso, titled “La Seine à Issy-les-Moulinaux” (c. 1919). Minor cracks across the surface, minor abrasion along the edges. Attributed to Andre Jallot (1884-1936, French). Also known under the pseudonym Pierre Jean Baptiste Louis Dumont, French Impressionist painter André Jallot was born in Paris in 1884. 27 x 35 cm (10.5 x 14 inches). This piece is expected to surpass its high estimate of $1,000.

Another unique piece set to be auctioned off on March 26 can be found at Lot 40, an Elmar Dam (1976- ) Netherlands Photograph on Plexiglass. Hailing from a private collection in California, this piece features an image reminiscent of the “Last Supper” with three suited men standing on the far side of the table with a lingerie-clad woman standing in the center. Two other lingerie-clad women are lying on each end of the table. Reference number GN 7209. Very Large Format 180 x 120 cm. Lot 40 commands a high estimate of $3,000.
