Famous Lithographs, Modern Art & Antiques Lead the Way in 888 Auctions’ October 8, 2020 Auction

 

Richmond Hill, ON – After a successful start to the autumn season, 888 Auctions continues to offer a plethora of fresh-to-market items with an emphasis on Famous Lithographs, Modern Art & Antiques. With 363 items available to the highest bidder, the live auction begins at 2 PM (EST) on Thursday, October 8, 2020.

 

Leading the category of signed lithographs is Lot 134, an attributed Mark Rothko American Signed Silkscreen. Signed “MARK ROTHKO” in the bottom right corner, “18/100” inscribed in the bottom left corner and “XX” inscribed on verso, this attributed work features a $2,000 high estimate.

 

Two other standout pieces have also been garnering strong interest online. Lot 168 features an attributed Andy Warhol American Watercolor on Paper. Signed “A Warhol” on the right edge and stamped with “CONTEMPORARY ART MASTERS, Lot 168 is expected to surpass its high estimate of $3,000. Another lithograph is also highlighted at Lot 225, an attributed Roy Lichtenstein American Pop Signed Lithograph. Stamped CONTEMPORARY ART, INC.,NEW YORK on verso and also inscribed RL 998 on verso, this piece commands a $2,000 high estimate.
