Fine Art, Paintings, Jewelry & Antiques Featured in April 11 Auction at 888 Auctions

Richmond Hill, ON – The Spring season got off to a blazing start and the second auction of the season is looking to continue the trend as 888 Auctions is proud to feature a 464-lot auction featuring some of the most interesting items consigned from all over the world. Featuring the finest fresh-to-market items in Fine Art, Paintings, Jewelry and Antiques, the lots will be sold to the highest bidder Thursday, April 11, 2019 at 2 PM (EST).

The star lot of the auction is a Signed Banksy Silkscreen Lithograph found at Lot 183. Featuring a high estimate of $5,000 his composition piece features a girl letting go of a heart-shaped balloon into the air and done in  black and red colors and inscribed in the lower left corner, 13/500. Stamped ART FAIR, LONDON and inscribed Ed 124 on verso, this is expected to garner significant interest.

Another lot expected to garner some significant interest can be found at Lot 164. Lot 164 is an oil on board featuring a hummingbird atop a window sill. This attributed Winston Churchill piece is expected to surpass its high estimate of $5,000.

Cubist pieces continue to draw strong interest from bidders all over the world and two lots are highlighted in this auction. Lot 130, a Pablo Picasso Spanish Mixed Media Galerie Mathias (High Estimate: $5,000) and Lot 170, a Leopold Survage French Cubist Oil on Canvas (High Estimate: $7,000).

Signed and numbered lithograph continue to draw strong interest and three lots have been of particular focus and interest at the auction house:

Lot 15: Marc Chagall French Surrealist Litho 12/75 Signed (High Estimate: $4,000)
Lot 162: Francis Bacon British Signed Litho AP (High Estimate: $2,500)
Lot 181: Keith Haring American Pop Art Signed Lithograph AP (High Estimate: $2,500)

Although, Asian arts and antiques are not as strong of a draw as they were five years ago, they remain a staple at 888 Auctions and two lots headline this category. Lot 56 is a charming piece, signed Park Su-Guen and featuring a Korean Oil on Canvas piece depicting a woman and her son (High Estimate: $200). Lot 336 is a Burma Imperial Green Jadeite Bangle (High Estimate: $12,000).

Abstract art continues to remain a strong draw and three headline this popular category:

Lot 57: Karel Appel Dutch Oil on Panel Abstract (High Estimate: $5,000)
Lot 197: Sam Francis American Abstract Oil on Canvas (High Estimate: $5,000)
Lot 240: Robert Motherwell American American Abstract OOC (High Estimate: $5,000)

A Norval Morrisseau piece will be featured in this auction at Lot 73. features Norval Morrisseau Canadian Acrylic on Wood Panel. This piece features aboriginal figures and is signed Norval Morrisseau in Cree syllabics. This carries a $9,000 high estimate.
