Modern Art, Impressionist Paintings & Gemstones Highlights at 888 Auctions October 10, 2019

Richmond Hill, ON – October 10, 2019 is set to feature 425 fresh-to-market items with a special focus on Modern Art, Impressionist Paintings and Gemstones with the live auction held at 888 Auctions’ gallery floor at 2 PM (EST).

Modern art continues to pave the way for strong auctions and the October 10 auction is no exception. The highlight of the auction is slotted in at Lot 269, an attributed Marc Chagall Russian-French Surrealist Acrylic on Panel painting. Featuring two figures and signed on the lower edge, this piece is expected to surpass its high estimate of $5,000.

Additionally, several other pieces have been garnering significant interest online and on the gallery floor. For instance, Lot 261 featuring an attributed Stanislaw Wyspianski Polish Pastel on Paper 1946 with Provenance and commanding a $6,000 high estimate has been experiencing vigorous bidding online already. Keeping up with Lot 261, is another Polish painting; this time in the form of Lot 227, an attributed Tamara de Lempicka Oil on Board painting. Featuring a nude instrumentalist and signed T DE LEMPICKA on the lower right corner, this piece is expected to exceed its high estimate of $6,000.

From the surrealist category, there is a very understated but quality offering at Lot 87: an attributed Frida Kahlo Mexican Surrealist Pencil on Paper painting. Commanding a high estimate of $4,000, this painting features a self-portrait and signed on the upper right corner.
