Modern Art, Signed Lithographs, and Gemstones Lead at 888 Auctions August 15, 2019

Richmond Hill, ON – 888 Auctions is proud to highlight a new category – Signed Lithographs – that continues to provide tremendous value to collectors within its catalog. Featuring 406 fresh-to-market items and several standout pieces, the Modern Art, Signed Lithographs, and Gemstones auction will be one to watch come Thursday, August 15, 2019 at 2 PM (EST).

The star lot of the auction will be Lot 125A, an impressionist landscape piece attributed to Winstno Churchill. This oil on canvas painting features a Tunisian or North African landscape scene and signed WSC on the lower right corner. Stamped Galerie Mathias Fels PARIS on the stretcher bar and with clear signs of aging, this piece is expected to easily surpass its high estimate of $6,000. 

Another impressive piece that is garnering early interest can be found at Lot 48, an attributed Tamara de Lempicka Charcoal on Paper painting. Featuring a portrait in her typical art deco style, this piece commands a high estimate of $5,000. Several other modern art pieces can be found at the lots below:
