Spearheading the furniture pieces in the auction will be Lot 466: a Set of Six Qing Period Rosewood Carved Chairs . Inset with “dreamstone” marble plaques and finely preserved with no nail construction and no evidence of the application of lacquer, this set of six rosewood carved chairs command a high estimate of $35,000. This set hails from a local collection and is dated to the Qing Period, 18 th /19 th Century.   Another 19 th Century Qing Period set of four Rosewood Carved Chairs can also be found at Lot 467. Having pierced openwork carving throughout and the back rest depicting butterfly, fruit and leaves with the apron carved with prunus and leaves, the chair represents auspicious symbols of longevity and beauty. A 1949 Kweichow 50 Cent commanded the highest price at $358,500, more than double the pre-auction estimate. A 1949 Kweichow 20 Cent followed, realizing $334,600 on April 16, 2014 in California.  A 1949 Kweichow 20 Cent followed, realizing $334,600.  Both coins were NGC-certified, AU-58 and MS-61 respectively.
