888 Auctions’ Last Sale of the Year Features Quality Chinese Paintings, Ceramics & Jewellery

Richmond Hill, ON – Thursday, December 3rd will mark 888 Auctions’ last sale of the year featuring over 450 lots of quality Chinese Paintings, Ceramics and Jewellery.

Featuring an assortment of fresh-to-market items with estimates ranging from $200 to over $30,000 collectors will be sure to find what they are looking for. Highlighting this December sale is Lot 83: a watercolour ink brush-wash painting featuring Wang Xuetao (1903-1982). The four pieces of hanging scroll features an auspicious motif of flowers in vases. Signed Wang Xuetao and inscribed with five artist seals, this it commands a high estimate of $50,000.

Not to be outdone, another high quality painting can be found at Lot 67: a Zhang Daqian (1899-1983) self-portrait scroll of the master himself. The hanging scroll painting is signed by several of his apprentices and is expected to surpass its high estimate of $20,000. Another painting of significance can be found at Lot 78: Watercolor Still Life Painting Scroll Yu Feian (1889-1959) with a high estimate of $6,000.

Despite the current downtrend of the market, ceramics continue to defy expectations and reaching or exceeding high estimates at 888 Auctions. Collectors will be excited to see the inclusion of the following lots:

Lot 345: Chinese Famille Rose Porcelain Vase Qianlong Mark (High Estimate: $15,000)

Lot 346: Famille Rose Square Porcelain Vase Yongzheng Mark (High Estimate: $14,000)

Lot 347: Famille Rose Dragon Porcelain Vase Qianlong Mark (High Estimate: $12,000)

With the approaching holiday season and for those looking to find a unique find in the final sale of the year, look no further than Lot 277: Fine 18K White Diamond Men’s Rolex Watch. It is conservatively estimated at $25,000 and the lucky owner will be sure to be pleased with its possession. Lot 239: Chinese 18K Grade A Icy Jadeite Pendant with Certificate is also an item for those looking to find a gift for that special person during this holiday season. Lot 239 carries a high estimate of $8,000.
