Richmond Hill, Ontario – A collection of 550 fine Chinese jade and works of art will be sold to the highest bidder on Thursday, May 8 by 888 Auctions at 1 PM EDT.

Opening the summer auction season, 888 Auctions will feature a quality collection of watercolour paintings, several exceptional jade carvings and rare Qing Period porcelain ceramics expected to exceed their respective estimates.

Headlining the carved jadeite pieces is an Emerald Green Grade A Jadeite 18K Gold Ring with 22 Diamonds featured at Lot 221. The hand assembled design ring contains one Grade A jadeite surrounded by twenty-two (22) brilliant cut round diamonds. It is expected to surpass its $6,000 high estimate.

For those interested in pendants and bangles, jadeite collectors will be pleased to hear the inclusion of finely carved pendants and bangles found at:

Lot 179, Fine Chinese Emerald Green Jadeite Carved Bangle with a high estimate of $5,000.

Lot 225, Chinese Jadeite Calabash Pendant with Diamonds encrusted on bail on an 18K Gold Mount with a high estimate of $2.500.

Lot 229, Chinese Icy Jadeite Pendant mounted in 18k white gold bail encrusted with Diamonds (High estimate of $2,500).

In addition, connoisseurs of distinctly white jade carvings will find great delight with the following lots founds at:

Lot 247, Twelve Pieces of Fine Chinese White Jade Zodiac Statues with carefully incised features and (High estimate of $4,000)

Not to be outdone, 888 Auctions will also feature a staple of high quality paintings will be featured at the beginning of the auction. Four watercolour paintings signed by the esteemed Pu Yi (1906-1967; Lot 57 with high estimate of $5,000)Shen Quan (Lot 58; high estimate of $25,000)Fu Baoshi (Lot 59; high estimate of $8,000), and Xu Bei Hong (Lot 61; high estimate of $6,000).

Lot 58 is particularly noteworthy for its detailed 33 feet (1025 cm) ink and watercolour painting featuring ‘100 birds’; the watercolour on silk features a collection of red artist seals.

Other interesting lots distinguished by their craftsmanship and age can be found at Lot 434, a Chinese Zhu Shan Ba You (Signed 1940) Republic Period Porcelain Vase and Lot 507, a Rare Chinese Zitan and Shoushan Stone Carved Seated Guanyin.
