888 Auctions Featuring Fine Chinese Jade and Ceramics October 9th

Richmond Hill, Ont – 888 Auctions is proud to present its Chinese Jade and Ceramics sale on 9 October 2014 featuring traditional paintings, ceramics and bronze cloisonné pieces, and exceptional jade and Tianhuang stone carvings.

The standout piece in 888 Auction’s fall sale is a Chinese Famille Verte Porcelain Vase at Lot 367. Dating back to the 17th or 18th Century, the Famille Verte enamelled porcelain vase features a continuous figural scene of Immortals. Estimated at $12,000, it is expected to garner the most attention in the sale.

Jade pieces continue to be in demand and the autumn October auction is no exception. Charmingly carved in detailed relief is a Honey White Jade Toad & Buddha Boulder at Lot 306. It is expected to surpass its high estimate of $7,000. Two jade carved figures can also be found at Lot 290 and Lot 296. Lot 290 features a Fine Chinese White Jade Carved Figure of Guanyin while Lot 296 features a Chinese Fine Carved Green Jade Bears with Stand. Both command a $6,000 high estimate.

In addition to the highlighted rhinoceros horn carvings, Lot 315 will provide an opportunity for Sino-Tibetan Buddhist figure collectors to find a Ming Dynasty Gilt Gold Medicine Buddha. Seated in vajrasana on a double lotus pedestal and the right and left hand in Bhumisparsha Mudra and Dhyana Mudra, respectively, the serene Medicine Buddha is expected to far exceed its $5,000-$7,500 estimate.

Other unique items showcased in the sale include a Vintage 1980’s French Cognac Hennessy X.O. at Lot 480 ($600-800) and a Chinese Wuliangye Wine Circa 1970’s at Lot 479 ($400-600).
