888 Auctions’ November 6th Sale to Showcase Important Chinese Ceramics & Jewellery

Richmond Hill, ON – On November 6th, 888 Auctions presents Fine Chinese Ceramics and Jewellery. The sale will provide an excellent opportunity for collectors and connoisseurs of Asian Art to acquire fine fresh to market jewellery pieces, exceptional ink and watercolour paintings and quality Chinese ceramics.

Highlighting the sale will be an important 18th Century Pair of Chinese Famille Rose enamelled porcelain vases (Lot 424). Shaped in the form of a melon with a lobed ovoid body, it is decorated with a gilt rim featuring flowers in Famille Rose enamelling. This 18th Century Qianlong-marked vase is possibly of the period and expected to fetch above its $30,000 high estimate.

Continuing the trend of important ceramics in the sale, Lot 325 showcases a Song Dynasty lobed porcelain bowl. Well preserved considering its age, the interior of the lobed bowl features incised archaistic designs of flowers. Lot 325 carries a $6,000 high estimate.

Among the jewellery pieces available for bidding are three 14kt gold diamond rings and are located at the following lots:

Lot 317 : 14kt Gold Diamond (1.01ct) Ring CRV $8000 (High Estimate: $7,500)
Lot 318: 14kt Gold Diamond (1.4ct & 0.65ct) Ring CRV $9250 (High Estimate: $9,000)
Lot 320: 14kt Gold Diamond (1.65ct) Ring CRV $14800 (High Estimate: $12,000)

All three diamond rings are accompanied with a certificate and have garnered considerable interest over the past few weeks.

From the staple of traditional Chinese watercolour paintings in the typical brush-wash style, collectors and buyers will be please to find the inclusion of five quality lots:

Lot 31: Chinese Watercolour Woman Zhang Daqian 1899-1983 (High Estimate: $40,000)

Lot 45: Chinese Watercolour Landscape Scroll Wang Jian (High Estimate: $25,000)

There continues to be demand for jadeite carved pieces and 888 Auctions is pleased to introduce two fine Grade A pieces. Lot 150 is a Grade A Burmese Jadeite Carved Bangle. This fine piece is accompanied with a certificate and has been tested at 888 Auctions JadeLab. It commands an $8,000 high estimate.

Another fine Grade A carved bangle is slotted at Lot 155. This Grade A carved bangle features the highly sought after natural emerald green translucent colour and is expected to exceed its $8,000 high estimate.
